Kauai 2019 Hawaiian Adventure Photography Workshop Co-Hosted With Ryan Smith - May 6th through 10th, 2019

  Join Aaron Reed and Co-Host Ryan Smith on a photography adventure of a lifetime! From luxurious amenities of beach front accommodation with ocean view rooms, to the adventure filled excursions, it's all included! Kauai truly is a photographer's paradise and we will experience it all! Our group will experience first hand some of the most photogenic pristine views in the world while capturing stunning images. You will have a front row seat to capturing the soaring cliffs of the Na Pali Coast, the vast chasms of Waimea Canyon, and the cascading waterfalls and undeveloped beaches of the "Island of Discovery", the variety and opportunities on this adventure are endless.


•Beginners to advanced; this workshop will be adaptable to all as this it has been carefully designed for amateur photographers of all skill levels

This deluxe workshop (limited to only 10 participants) will be based out of  the luxurious Coconut Beach Marriott Courtyard property located just 10 minutes from the Lihue Airport. Accommodations and excursions are all included! The variety of locations and content within this workshop is unmatched. Beginners to Advanced, this workshop will be adaptable to all as this it has been carefully designed for photographers of all skill levels.

Cost of the workshop

•Current workshop cost for 2019 is $3,495 A deposit of $999 is required to reserve a slot for this workshop.
•The workshop guides must receive the remaining amount 90 days prior to the start of the workshop. (Monthly Payment Installments are available upon request.
•$50 discount per person for ticket purchases of 2 or more.
•Spouses and other guests are welcome to attend and travel to the various locations but must be  registered paid workshop attendees per our permits  (We have had many tag along spouses really enjoy the trip hadn’t had much experience with photography who enjoyed learning with us.)

•We will cover as many locations as possible to include possible sunrise, sunset, and milky way captures
•Sunset Dinner Cruise 
•Ocean Front Lodging ( based upon Double occupancy )
•Sea Caves boat tour and swim with the Turtles 
•On site instruction for photographing various locations and conditions with possible captures of the milky way 
•In-camera photo reviews and camera setting adjustments where necessary

What is not included?

•Participant’s meals, including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snacks, are the responsibility of each participant
•Various stops to stores giving time for purchases and needed items will be made throughout the day
•Flight, Transportation, and any additional  off-workshop activity events are the responsibility of each participant
•Transportation to and from the airport to the hotel is the responsibility of the participants.

Na PaliCoast Sunset Photography Dinner Cruise

We will take in breathtaking views as we cruise along  and capture the Na Pali Coastline on a spacious 55-65 ft catamaran for this 4 hour photography dinner cruise. There’s nothing like a Kauai sunset and there’s no place better to see it than on the water. This area is only accessible by boat so the views of are unobstructed and will all be ours! 

We will have all the sodas, juices, water and snacks we can handle as we explore the coastline while the crew keeps us entertained with local stories about the sights on the way. A beautifully catered dinner is also included complete with local favorites, cocktails, and desert.

Sea Caves and Coast Tour optional snorkel with turtles 

Capture images during a memorable 4 hour adventure along the Napali Coast from Hanalei. We will explore 5 to 6 natural sea caves. You will be able to go inside these amazing sea caves (ocean conditions permitting) and be amazed as we take you alongside and into cascading waterfalls that drop right into the ocean! As we move down the NAPALI coast, keep your eyes open for pods of Hawaiian spinner dolphins that swim alongside our vessel! We will continue on to NualoloKai, an exclusive protected reef destination open to only a select few tour boats. Here you will experience a snorkeling adventure for up to an hour where you will see hundreds of different Hawaiian reef fish and sea turtles! Snorkel gear provided  along with a full lunch.

Based upon conditions including the weather and clarity night sky forecasts of each day, we will work on a flexible agenda which allows for the best opportunities to experience each iconic location in its best condition. With a wealth of experience within these geographic locations, we will ensure to guide the group and maximize time spend at each location as well as cut travel time from location to the next.

Q. I’m flying in, Which Airport should I fly to? 

You will fly in and out of the close by Lihue International Airport ( LIH ) Most of the major airlines have direct flights into LIH including Delta, United, American Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines and more. Most Airlines have point options for ticketing as well. 

• The airport is located 12 minutes away( 6 miles ) from the Coconut Beach Marriott Courtyard Resort

Safety Considerations / Physical Abilities

We will be either walking or hiking short distances along trails, beaches and rocky terrain. 

 All of our hikes will be day hikesand you will not need to carry much more than your camera gear. Sometimes we will be away from our hotel for many hours at a time, so you should have a backpack that can carry some additional clothing layers and a picnic meal in addition to your gear. Hiking will not exceed distances of two miles. We recommend that participants wear boots that provide good ankle support, and encourage you to bring trekking poles to improve your comfort and balance. 

 If any location is out of your comfort zone, you’re more than welcome to shoot another location, stay and enjoy the resort, or remain near the vehicles until we move to another location. 

You are required to provide your workshop guide a medication list and any medical information he or she should be aware of.


With the exception of excursions which include a meal such as the Na Pali Photography Sunset Dinner Cruise, Participant’s meals, including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snacks, are the responsibility of each participant.  Various stops to stores giving time for purchases and needed items will be made throughout the day for anyone as needed.

Car Rental / Car Pool

Many major car rental brands are available at LIH making it quick and easy for car pick up. We will carpool to field locations no longer than 1.5 hours away from the resort. Due to the small size of the island every site is very accessible within short distances. The majority of areas we will be visiting is paved with the exception of a few dirt roads or parking areas

While its not required for this adventure, many Car Rental companies  offer 4x4 options including Jeeps.

Car Pooling: Upon securing your spot on the workshop, you will be connected with others within our workshop group on a private Facebook page. We will open up the discussion on this page for you to network with others and share as to who would like to carpool and share transportation costs.  

Payment / Cancelation Policy

A non refundable registration payment of $999 is required to reserve your spot on this workshop. This payment of $999 is applied to the total cost of $3,495. You may choose to pay the full amount up front of $3,495 and take advantage of any full payment discounts. The final balance is due and payable 90 days before the workshop begins. There will be no refunds with one exception described below.

 In the event you are unable to attend and provide notice by sending an e-mail to AND you are able to find another client to fill your space, you will receive a full refund, minus your non-refundable deposit. In the event the workshop is full, we may assist you in posting for looking for filling the empty spot in your behalf but do not guarantee that we will place someone. 

There is no future workshop exchange allowed due to the limited workshop experiences we provide and locations change.
