My Top 10 Fine Art Nature Photographs Of 2018 | The Year In Review

Each year around this time I take a look back on the past twelve months and consider the body of work I have produced since last January. I create a list of my highest quality work from both a personal view and a professional one, taking into account the ongoing success of the gallery quality fine art prints that I produce for collectors around the world. I then combine both lists to develop my top ten of 2018. This past year has been incredible for a number of reasons seeing my work continue to grow in success around the world as one of the top nature photographers today.

I hope you enjoy viewing the compiled list below and invite you to have a look around the rest of my photography galleries when time allows. The next time you are looking to define a space in your home or office with exquisite contemporary fine art, please consider returning here for inspiration and opportunity. I offer my work at prices far lower than other photography galleries with quality that rivals and exceeds the work found in Las Vegas, Soho and other top tourist destinations around the globe, but don't just take my word for it, see what real collectors of my work think about me, my limited edition photography and the level of service I provide. Happy New Year to all of you!

Echoes Of Fall

Fine Art Limited Edition of 100 - Betula papyrifera (paper birch, also known as white birch and canoe birch) is a short lived species of birch native to northern North America. Paper birch is named due to the thin white bark which often peels in paper like layers from the trunk. Paper birch is often one of the first species to colonize a burned area within the northern latitudes and an important species for moose browse. The wood is often used for pulpwood and firewood.

Fine Art Limited Edition of 100 - The Jökulsárlón lake provides outstanding views of the ice cap, a vast dome of ice that rises to a height of 3,000 ft (910 m). It spills to the lagoon 12 mi (19 km) away from the jagged glacier hill to the edge of the water line. The lake developed only about 60 years ago (1948 is mentioned), when the entire area was less than 100 ft (30 m) of glacier, which was only 250 yd (230 m) from the Atlantic Ocean, and 2 mi (3.2 km) away from Vatnajökull. Vatnajökull was at the shore line of the ocean and dropped icebergs into the ocean. However, it started drifting inland rapidly every year, leaving deep gorges en route, which got filled with melted water and large chunks of ice. These icebergs gather at the mouth of the lake's shallow exit, melt down into smaller ice blocks, and roll out into the sea.

Diamonds In The Wind

Fine Art Limited Edition of 50 - Black sand is sand that is black in color. One type of black sand is a heavy, glossy, partly magnetic mixture of usually fine sands, found as part of a placer deposit. Another type of black sand, found on beaches near a volcano, consists of tiny fragments of basalt. When lava contacts water, it cools rapidly and shatters into sand and fragmented debris of various size. Much of the debris is small enough to be considered sand. A large lava flow entering an ocean may produce enough basalt fragments to build a new black sand beach almost overnight.

DragonSkin

Fine Art Limited Edition of 100 - Naturally forming mudcracks start as wet, muddy sediment dries up and contracts. A strain is developed because the top layer shrinks while the material below stays the same size. When this strain becomes large enough, channel cracks form in the dried-up surface to relieve the strain. Individual cracks spread and join up, forming a polygonal, interconnected network. These cracks may later be filled with sediment and form casts over the base.

It was established on March 2, 1899 as the fifth national park in the United States. The park encompasses 236,381 acres (369.35 sq mi; 956.60 km2) including all of Mount Rainier, a 14,411-foot (4,392 m) stratovolcano. The mountain rises abruptly from the surrounding land with elevations in the park ranging from 1,600 feet to over 14,000 feet (490 - 4,300 m). The highest point in the Cascade Range, around it are valleys, waterfalls, subalpine meadows, old-growth forest and more than 25 glaciers. The volcano is often shrouded in clouds that dump enormous amounts of rain and snow on the peak every year.
