Iceland 10 Day Private Photography Workshop 2027

10 Day Private Iceland Photography Workshops

I have taught group photography workshops since 2009, long before the popularity of workshops and the amplification of social media brought them to the levels there are at today. I enjoy teaching photography, especially to newer photographers who have that fire and seek the wonders of nature, both big and small.

In recent years, largely due to the success of my work in the world of fine art, I have reduced the number of workshops I have offered. I have also wanted to change the way that I offer workshops as well and this 10 day adventure in Iceland is my first example of this change.

While I enjoy the group dynamic, the camaraderie and friendships that can form between workshop groups, in a location like Iceland I feel the experience is instead impacted in a negative way. The only way to photograph Iceland, in my opinion, is to travel by camper van, keep your plans wide open and follow the weather.

Because of this, in 2027 I am going to begin offering just two, 1:1 or 2:1 personalized & private ten day workshops in Iceland. Those who attend this workshop can either attend by themselves, come with a spouse or with a friend. Just make sure it is someone you want to sleep in a camper van with! The date of the workshop can also be flexible, but I would personally suggest choosing dates between June 7th to July 15th.

The Magic of Vestrahorn

There is simply something special about Vestrahorn, a striking mountain in Southeast Iceland along the Stokksnes Peninsula that dramatically rises from a beautiful black sand beach. Fine Art Limited Edition of 50.

This workshop will be an investment into yourself as a photographer and will be the adventure of a lifetime. During this workshop we will visit the entire island and everything it has to offer, visiting countless waterfalls, black sand beaches, glaciers, mountains, geothermal areas and so much more. I am happy to discuss in detail all of the locations we will visit prior to our travel, what to expect, what to bring and absolutely everything you will need to know about Iceland landscape Photography.

Because the ability to change and adjust our plans to follow the weather & current conditions, you will come away with far more outstanding images than any group workshop can offer you and will have personalized 1:1 instruction the entire way! As an added bonus, for those who may be interested in selling fine art photography as well, I would be happy to share my experience and knowledge along the way!

The cost of investment for this private ten day workshop is $12,500, with a 50% deposit required at the time of registration and the balance remaining due May 1st, 2027. You will be required to rent a camper van and the cost of your van, flight, food and gas are not included in the workshop registration.

Iceland: The Land of Fire and Ice

Iceland (i/ˈaɪslənd/; Icelandic: Ísland pronounced: [ˈistlant]), is a Nordic island country in the North Atlantic Ocean. It has a population of 332,529 and an area of 103,000 km2 (40,000 sq mi), making it the most sparsely populated country in Europe.

The capital and largest city is Reykjavík. Reykjavík and the surrounding areas in the southwest of the country are home to over two-thirds of the population. Iceland is volcanically and geologically active. The interior consists of a plateau characterized by sand and lava fields, mountains and glaciers, while many glacial rivers flow to the sea through the lowlands.

Iceland is warmed by the Gulf Stream and has a temperate climate, despite a high latitude just outside the Arctic Circle. Its high latitude and marine influence still keeps summers chilly, with most of the archipelago having a tundra climate.

Magical Moments

The last rays of the setting sun transform the striated spire of Iceland’s Kirkjufell into a golden pavilion. A rushing stream of glacial melt flows past the emerald meadows on its way to the sea. Fine Art Limited Edition of 50.

The Ring Road | Travel In Iceland

The Ring Road is 1,328 kilometres long (825 miles). We will spend the majority of our time traveling this road, as well as various F roads that lead to the Highlands of Iceland. Instead of mapping out an itinerary here, let me just say that in 10 days we will see almost everything we would like to see & photograph on the island. My numerous visits to the island traveling by camper van offers the experience we need to know how, when and where to go, all across the island.

Oceans Treasures

Along the freezing shores of Jökulsárlón in Iceland, boules of ice lodge in the sand, caressed by the slow rhythm of the tide. At the horizon, giant glaciers roll down the blue mountains to pour still more crystalline treasures into the sea. Fine Art Limited Edition of 50.

Walls of hexagonal pillars cradle a gentle stream of purest azure in Studalgil Canyon in Iceland. Blurring the line between the hand of man and the whimsy of nature, the gorge sits like an ancient hall whose story is lost to time. Fine Art Limited Edition of 50.

Infinite | Abstract Photography | Aaron Reed

The crumbled soil of a dry desert flat is inspired by the low light of the sun into a bed of jewels. Sitting like the precious beads in a brooch, the alkaline baubles are woven by a spider’s web of fissures into a fractal tapestry of rainbow color. Fine Art Limited Edition of 50.

Let There Be Light

A wildfire sunset climbs up the forgotten walkways of the emerald temple of Kirkjufellsfoss in Iceland. Shrouds of whitewater trickle past jeweled gardens of moss on their way to the frigid plain of the open ocean. Fine Art Limited Edition of 50.
